Bangalow Show - Good news story

Postby mark on Tue Nov 21, 2006 2:13 pm

Hi all,

You might recall a week or so ago a post by Finch on another forum with regards entering photography contests.

Well I mentioned in the thread that I was entering a few of my pictures in the Bangalow Show so here is a bit of an update on how I went.

The prize haul.
The picture that the awards sit in front of was taken by my 7 year old boy Sam and I am very proud of it. He took out second prize in his class - Junior - Any subject.

I want to say a big thanks to all of you on the forum. Most of what I have learnt about DigitalSLR photography has been from this and another forum that I frequent. Whilst I might not always post a reply to every topic, I have always found the information provided by the forum members informative and the links to other sites containing photography information to be very helpful.

So to you all I dedicate this win as it was all of you who have contributed to it by way of your image C&C, suggestions re: technique and all the other tips and tricks.

Take a bow people as these are some wonderful communities full of sharing people without who's help and encouragement I seriously doubt that any of this would have been possible.

Thanks Again :D :D :D

Well done Mark!!

Some nice deserving images in that lot. I too, can attest to learning a lot from this forum, but it is obvious you learn very fast.

I look forward to any other competitions you choose to participate in, as this is a darn fine first effort.

Congratulations. The photo of the bird with the fish is a worthy winner. It's a great shot. Well done. Congrats to your son too.

Mark,

Not simply a good news story, but a good photography story - a good story, and about some really good photography.

Congratulations to both of you for this fine haul.

Terrific shot that Grand Champion. Well captured. Great shots in the photographic essay - love the shot of the horse and the farrier at work with the horses nose resting on his back.
Thanks for sharing your great news.
Congrats to you and your son as well!!!
Cheers, Mick :) :) :)
