Images seem sharper on other monitorsHi as you can tell by my question I am new to all things digital 7 computers. I have noticed when I take photos on a thumb drive to other persons houses the images seem sharper on their monitors. My computer is only 18months old, it is a HP with a HPvs17 monitor. Am i doing something wrong or is it just me?
Hi RBG and welcome. The most obvious answer to this question is the resolution of the monitor. It could be that your friends monitor is working at a higher resolution than your own. It could also be the difference between a CRT and LCD or even calibration. Many variables but whatever the answer the actual images are the same - it’s only the viewing options that change.

The main thing I see is that it's an analogue-only monitor, with a small 15-pin plug on it. Newer monitors are often digital (DVI, larger plug with more pins) which gives a sharper image and often better colour as well. But they're usually more expensive. http://www.moz.net.nz
have bicycle, will go to Critical Mass
Is the screen running at its native resolution?
ie your display preferences are set to use a screen resolution of 1280 x 1024 @ 75Hz (from stats on HP site)
