Hey everyone. Been kinda quiet lately and very busy. One of the things that is keeping us occupied is the new house that we're building. We building with Allworth homes and they're fantastic.
This is where the house is up to:
And as of today the gyprock is on the floor inside ready to be put up after the insulation goes in.
It's great how quick it's all going. On the 29th of september we had a concrete slab and just over a month later we have the frame, roof and bricks all done.
I emailed through at 9am this morning that a roof tile was cracked, and by 5pm when I went through it was fixed, how's that for service.
Anyway, I'll update with more pics when I get them.
Cheers,
Owen.

Yup, complete with skip and pile of broken bricks
You know, it's so hard not to go out there every day to check it out, however they're working so fast that there are noticable changes every day too.

Good news folk, we're moving in on the 22nd of Dec... just in time to be the biggest (and most expensive) xmas present I've ever had or will get.
I can't wait. Stay tuned for lots of pics once we're in.

Owen, do a walk through with a notepad on Monday the 18th testing everything, especially things like hot water, etc. You will have buckleys getting a builder back for any faults after Friday the 22nd.

Will do. We go through with the area supervisor next friday and from all reports I have heard he is very thorough. But will check all essential things to make sure we can get through the xmas break.

Owen,
Very big house.
I am jealous.
Never see a big house like this in HK.
You have luck.
Regards
Poon

Congrats Owen. I know exactly what you're going through as my wife & I are also currently having our new house built.
As already mentioned, make sure you have a good look around the house during inspection. It was also mentioned to us by a friend that it's a good idea to keep a notepad & pen in the kitchen drawer upon moving in. There are always little things that you don't pick up on (or occur) once you've moved in. This way, as soon as it becomes evident, write it down so you don't forget and you can get back onto the builders in the New year...when they all come back to work and you won't have to try and remember all the little things you found.
Good luck & I am envious about your move in date ! ATM, ours will be about May 07

Thanks guys.
Poon, I do consider myself very lucky too - I have been very fortunate so far in life.
Aussie dave - good idea about keeping the notepad in the kitchen - will definitely do so. All the best with yours as well. Although May may seem far away - the time just flies by.

It looks great, it must be very exciting for you. We are thinking of taking the "new build" option when we buy.
Congrats, I hope the move goes smoothly!

Well, we're in. I'll be taking some pictures once the muddy lake out the front clears up and we get rid of all the boxes cluttering up the place.
