Front connector cover on d200... already gone!Bloody hell... Already lost it...
Obviously did not screw the front connector cover on the d200 on tight enough... now have a naked connector... Not hugely concerned, its just a weather proofing issue... Anyone sourced replacements of these?? In future I will keep them off and put them on if going into the elements... New page

Lost mine twice and found it twice (yes that means I still have it!) - left it off the last time and put it in a safe place in my camera bag so I can put it ON if I ever need it - rather than the reverse!
Lost mine two weeks after purchase at either the airport at Samoa, Tonga or Sydney. Was considering retracing my steps
![]() I am thinking of setting my own shop up that just sells small bits of black plastic with screw threads. I am sure they cost at least 2c to produce so the mark up to $10 is 50,000 %. Not bad eh! Canon 30D doesnt have these obsolete screw caps. It has a rubber cover for all their wired attachments. Just my 2c worth. Nikon & Olympus
I lost mine on a boat on the Dalmatian coast , I think I should really retrace my steps too ![]() D200
I have one sitting here from the D200 i bought a couple of weekes ago as mate came around and rang and saod he had lost it but lucky was on my floor.

Nearly lost mine on the D2X during and after the workshop. Took the camera out of the bag and heard the cover hit the floor and go rolling

Come follow the rabbit hole...
I've lost both of mine - slippery little suckers aren't they?

Slightly off topic - but kind of related!
I keep grabbing my D200 out of my Lowepro Mini-Trekker and noticing it's already switched on! I'm 100% sure I switch it off when I put it away but 2 out of 5 times it will be on. Would be nice to have some kind of locking mechanism or a firmer switch.
hehe pity the battery life of the D200 isnt like that of the D70 series!
if you lose the cap, i guess what you could do is go into a store (that you dont visit that often of course) that happens to have a demo model, hope that it still has the cap, ask to have a play with it and pinch a cap ![]() -julz

hahahaha.... Actually, I had heard about these caps falling off, so when I got my camera, one of the first things I did was take them off and leave them in my dry cabinet.
I have taken mine off and leave it in the CF card container in the camera bag. Big enough to not lose it, small enough not to be a PIA.

After I wrote that last post, I thought why no-one in any review I have read of the D200 mentioned this as an issue, or the flimsy nature of the battery cover or the CSM switch issue or the on/off switch robustness.

Now I think a much more interesting question would be: "Has anyone found one that wasn't theirs?"
When I was a teacher quite a few yrs back one of my students came up to me with a back lens cap for a Nikon. He found it in a park on the way to school, knew I was a Nikon person and gave it to me. Certainly much better than an apple. Nikon & Olympus
