Edit: oh yeah, last time I went to a coffee thing, I felt sick for the rest of the day, because I didn't keep up my water intake, and I didn't eat much.

I really recommend having plenty of bikkies, water and munchies on hand, and I strongly recommend everyone to eat even if they feel full. Coffee is a diauretic [sp?], so it dehydrates you, can bloat your tummy and make you feel full. Eat heaps of bready stuff and drink plenty of water and juice, even if you don't feel like it.

Or, you can just suffer the sick tummy/head thing, and never feel like coffee again!

What a great way to spend a Saturday morning! Sampling some great coffee, watching the maestros at work (thanks Patrick and Matty), checking out camera gear (what else do we do when we get together) and chatting with friends.

Think this should become a regular meet. Now all I have to do is find some tea!!!

Have not long ago got home (left at about 3pm, so the morning/lunchtime meet went a little overtime ).

Looking forward to January now, when we have another forum picnic day organised - or at least in the process of being organised

Patrick and Alicia, thank you both so much - you guys are such wonderful hosts. MattyJacobs, your tireless efforts in brewing the perfect cup, time after time after time - were much appreciated by myself and I'm sure others as well. Thank you.

It's been great to see old faces, meet new faces, have a right old yarn and overstay our welcome.

I now have more of an idea on the coffee making process, and may take this up as a new hobby if I'm ever short of one....

1. Thanks to Matty for playing barista (with a hangover?), especially when I couldn't get a good shot going.
2. It was great to meet some new friends (Mj & Chi).
3. It was great to see "older" friends again.
4. Thank you to everyone for not breaking my illy cups .
5. No-one overstayed there welcome as everyone's company was more than welcome.
6. Thanks to my 14 week pregnant wife for playing very gracious host whilst I tried to play barista.

In responose to point 1; once I got into a rhythm, my (only slight) hangover was gone.

In response to point 4; I tried, dammit! I tried! Came close doing the dishes but those cups are tough buggers...

And thanks to everyone for drinking the coffee! If I could've stuck around for longer, I would've sat out in the sun and chatted more! I'm glad you all enjoyed yourselves (I had heaps of fun!), I love making coffee for everyone! Even the tea drinkers!

Between Patrick and Matty there was enough coffee paraphernalia to start a couple of cafe's or purchase a D2X and a few good lenses.

Glen, if you wanted to offer me a D2x and some lenses in exchange for my coffee machine, I would be more than happy to trade! (I could even throw in one or two illy cups )

Great day and celebration of Sheepies birthday thrown in.

And thanks for bringing the cake - I think the walk to Forsyth Park afterwards helped burn off some of the contents of the cake!
