Hi all,
Have just returned home (Perth) after spending the last 12 months touring around Aus. Travelled by 4WD towing an offroad camper trailer. Visited most of the big name spots and so many more of the no name spots. Travelled over some of the best 4WD tracks Aus has to offer and camped for months in utter seclusion at hundreds of million star locations. Photography played a large part during the trip (as did surfing, rock climbing and fishing ) and I amassed a total of just over 9000 RAW files.
We are now a couple of days away from starting work again, 1 week away from moving back into our house, a year away from being financially positive and utterly satisfied with what was the best year of our lives.
Looking forward to keeping in touch with old forum friends and being a part of the "gang".
Cheers

Welcome back.
As one who loves to travel I am envious. Can't wait to see some of your shots and perhaps some more details of the trip - where to go, where to stay etc.
Cheers, Mick

Welcome back,
would have been an awesome trip
Did you happen to bump into Ben, also a member here, he's been travelling around Oz as well, since last January with his wife and two kids.
Look forward to some photos.

Awesome. So many people never get a chance to do what you did so i reckon you should now sit down and write a book on your adventure (with pictures). I am sure you will have some stories to tell.

WOAH!
Very envious. Hope to do something like that myself one day (maybe even with the wife and son ).
Look forward to seeing some images from your mountain of pics!

I too am back, but after 43000 k's or so. Very similar trip doing the hot lap with the family fishing, photos camping etc. I don't think I ran into you but did see many Dslr's out there. We pulled back into Newcastle two nights ago and am already planning the next getaway! For those who didn't know, probably most of you, we have been writing for Australian 4WD Monthly along the way, 6 articles so far with about 10 more to come, its awesome to see your photos in print. I too would love to post some piccies as well as see some of yours from the trip, just need to settle back in first and get a little organised.
Talk again soon.

Welcome back as well Ben,
looking forward to the stories
Certainly quite the coincidence that two of our members did similar trips and they both returned home, on the opposite side of the country, within a few days of each other.

Welcome back Escapism. I must say you have made anumber of us really jealous. I know I'm looking forward to travelling around Australia, revisiting old favoourites and investigating the myriad of new locations, for me anyway. Look forward to seeing the pics and getting some tips on 'Must see' localities.
cheers

Cheers all,
Yes it was one hell of a trip. My partner and I have travelled for a few years before (Europe, Asia, Indo etc etc) however, this last year within my own country has really been magic. I seriously cant recomend it highly enough! I am very keen to post some pics in the upcoming weeks.
Ben: Small world!! Have been following your articles in Aus4WD Monthly over the last few months and look forward to the rest.
