Wow birdie, 11-18 (which = 16.5 to 27 in the old money) is one very wide motha! And I don't mind a bit of Tamron action at all.

Just off the line with Maxwell, they said stock will be in sometimes end of October and price will be available next week. Quiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiick!!!!

You're right!!!! Nikkor 12-24/ f.4 is over $1400.00
I guess Tamron 11-18/ f.4.5 will be less than 1 grant!

Birddog, do you know if it will be compatible with the capture software which allows you to straighten it out? Or maybe it has Tamron post processing software? Sounds very interesting

That what I asked them also this morning, you can use NC 4 to de-fisheye the photo same as the Nikkor 10.5 Fisheye lens

The Tamron 11-18 is a Wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiideangle! wider than the Nikkor 12-24 and it close to the Nikkor 10.5 fisheye, if photo taken at 11 maximum wide then perhaps you'll need to defish, don't know yet until we can get one sample to try. Hopefully by the end of October as mentioned by Maxwell, it's just about to the meet of PP and NC4 on Otc. 30.

But Nikkor has a 16mm that's fish eye, and yet a 14mm (from memory) that's rectillinear. Anyway, an affordable ultra wide would be welcomed by me.
