japan new year sales - so cheap! :'(

hey guys at my mates house in japan, we just got a heap of junkmail, japan is renown for its new years sales. im not offering these for sale or anything... just expressing how cheap they are, new!

Nikon
d200 body - $1900
d80 with 18-70mm + 512mb - $1230
d40/d50 with 18-55mm + 512mb - $670

Canon
400d with 18-55mm $1100

When members have 50 meaningful posts or more and have been around for a while then the bargains that are available here are even better than the prices you've quoted :) One of the many things that makes this place so great!

What currency are thos prices in?

D200 body, through this site, is cheaper than what you're quoting, if they're Pacfic Pesos.

sorry guys they are in aus $ (pacific pesos hahah) they'd have to be hot if that was in yen 8)

im actually kicking myself a little cause i picked up a new d70s for about $1k aud 2 weeks ago... now that the d80 is that cheap... oh well, i have taken many pictures i would hate to have missed. looks like i'll have to wear-out the d70 quickly :lol:

Good luck with that! They are basically bullet proof... even continuous shooting for 50 000 frames and you'll struggle to break one :D

D200 cheaper than $1900... damn, i got ripped off. :D
I paid $2045 for mine( local price though w/ maxwell warranty )...
still how much if its cheaper than $1900 - then any savings is still a saving...

At $2045 local you have a very good deal coz it includes local warranty :)

id tend to agree with sirhc55, although you paid more its much more comforting having a local waranty!

can someone tell me, whats the going rate for a 50mm 1.8d lens?
