Like any of these competitions, make sure you read the terms and conditions. The terms for this competition are particularly draconian. As long as you know what you are getting into, go for it.

At least they're honest about their intent...

grants to the Sponsor and the National Australia Day Councils an exclusive, irrevocable royalty-free, transferable worldwide right, in all media (now known or later developed) to use, publish, alter or otherwise exploit their entry.


Imagine installing your new version of Vista SP15 and finding your family picnic on the splashscreen ;)

That is some serious fine print, atleast they are being very honest about it, but seriously how many people would actually be reading it. Your average Ma and Pa I think not.

We need to write software that reads these terms & conditions and find out those little sensitive words and highlight them straight away... :P

Just realised I missed a word to highlight above - it's an EXCLUSIVE right even! - strictly, that means that you're not even permitted to use the image yourself anymore.
