PotW 30.1.07

Postby Glen on Tue Jan 30, 2007 3:19 am

This weeks PotW is by Onyx (Chi) who claims that this image comes from his first shoot with a model. Great props, the whole image gives me a very Norman Lindsay feel.

Original thread and other images here This image is the second one and worth seeing full size.

Awww, thanks Glen for the selection, and thank you to everyone else for your kind comments. When I first saw the image on the forum homepage, I was like WTF?!?

Yes, I'm quite enjoying my newfound hobby of nude/semi-nude models... it was born out of a need to justify the purchase cost of the D200. Hence, I hooked up with a Flickr based group, the Sydney and Blue Mountains Photography Cooperative (plug plug), and they have regular excursions out to secluded spots where photogs and models interact in a way that is legal and wholesome... ;)

The pic in question was intended to be printed, and it was. The prints were crap. Significantly darker than expected and muddy (was from a Kodak "Magic Maker" machine, I still favour Fuji labs) so I guess achieving POTW this week is the saving grace.

I have more images from that first shoot at Wenthworth Falls, as well as the second shoot at Little Bay on the 20th of Jan - yet to be looked at or procesed, due to my hectic work schedule and very little time to enjoy the fruits of my labour.

Meanwhile, please browse my Flickr gallery for other existing photos from the model shoot(s) if interested.
