The original announcement:

Right! I've got the details for the first challenge of the new year.

This one should make you think a bit since photography is not just about framing something up in the viewfinder, but having a thought process too (most of the time).

So, without further... whatever it is... the theme is...

Wordplay: There must be a clearly identifiable word somewhere in the image and there must be a connection between it and the image. The word must be one that would be understood by the majority of forum members.

I'd prefer not to have people discuss in specifics what the theme is. It's not a very hard one and I'd prefer people not to feel like they're limited to various ideas.

Challenge Rules - Verification
A question for the Moderators of the forum?

There has been no mention of prizes for this challenge, which is fine. But is the person who receives first place eligible to win in another challenge and its associated prizes this calendar year?

I totally agree with the current rules:

*Entrants can only win one Major and one Minor first prize each calendar year. Whether a prize is Major or Minor will be announced at the start of the comp but in general a Major prize is awarded for two round comps while Minor prizes are awarded for single round comps. In addition second place (first runner up) prize in a Major round will be considered as a Minor first prize for the purposes of the above. Entrants can still win comps, but the prize will go to the next runner up (but the winner retains the Qudos)

By the rules above this isn’t a Major Challenge (eg it only consists of 1 round), is it a Minor Challenge?

I don't want to sound like I'm in it for the money (or prizes), but a little clarification might be helpful.

I will need clarification from either Scott, Gary or one of the other admins Wocka, but I think this is classified as a Minor challenge.
