Thanks to Birdog114 for hosting this meet, it was great meeting some of the people on this site.  BTW your wifes chicken soup was spectacular . So thank you to Mrs Ho as well!

Yes, it was a lovely meet. Thanks Birddog for your generous hospitality once again, and to everyone who came - it's great to have met you!

The chicken "phô" soup was unreal, better than restaurant quality.

Expect some pics soon... esp from the 10.5mm fisheye which was a lot of fun.

Far out, I thought I'd be first to post a thank you on the forum post mini-meet today. Belinda and I had a great time and the soup, well definately something to write home about. Thanh and Tranh's (? spelling) hospitality was as always second to none and meeting some of the new users is always fun. I took quite a few images with Birdy's BEAUTIFUL 200-400VR on the main road and even got yelled at by a passing car 'paparazzi' hehehe...expect some images later on in the evening! Cheers ppls!

Unfortunately was unable to attend today as I was out and about discussing the finer details of timber flooring
So... what have I missed???? Some yummy soup by all accounts and a further lusting over those 200-400VRs... needed to catch up with MattK re PSCS and Onyx re panaroma factory but will have to wait till next time I guess. Surely next week our dollar will start on it's predicted upswing and I can once again dream of VR bliss to be mine

I can think of one better. Korean Air makes Air Canada look gormet. The only difference is the hostesses make up for it, unlike the hostesses on Air Canada.

I was enjoying (not) Kimchee whilst this meeting was going on. I do know where I would rather be and it is not in the air.

Its not actually the 3 hr round trip that's the killer. It's getting out of bed in time to leave at 7 am on a Saturday (vs my normal 9:30 am sleep in ). Hopefully a few of you guys will make it up here to the Shortland Wetlands shoot I'm organising.

We loved the soup as our daily traditional food, we have them at least once a week and the wife done all the hard job and am enjoyed. Thanks to the wife and her supports.
I had a talked with her yesterday after the meet, once everyone's gone.

Here's my ideas:
While we're doing some photography works at the mini-meet, your wife, partner, girlfriend, may join my wife with some classic and traditional Viet's foods preparation for lunch to the "Special Photographers"
Or they can show/ share other their kitchen's skills, so all of them get something to do! We can call it "D70User's Partner club" hehehehe!

If this happened, then your lust may be easier cos we try to get the wifes involved in our hobby and am sure the wifes will be happy to support if they can see their enjoyments at the meets and they know where are you going same as who did you meet

Birddog - when I make it to 'Belmore' for a 'Mini Meet' on a Saturday, I will also need one the following as well. I enjoy cooking, so I would like to know how to prepare 'Mrs Birddog' soup .

What a great idea to invite wives, girlfriends, partners etc. to the mini-meets.

Cooking classes sound terrific but why stop there

Knitting, crochet, embroidery, tatting, tapestry, sewing

That should keep everyone occupied whilst we get on with the real business of lens lust.

Hell! And while we're on it what about a creche for the tiny tots....and wheel in the senior citizens...put in some wheelchair access and rumpus size toilets with double doors!!! Saline drips and a dialysis machine. And a therapy room for the nervous and twitchy....
