wedding photography tips neededi have my sisters wedding coming up in 1 month and need some advice to take some classic shots.
simple hey. i have a 400d with a 24-105 f4 IS L and a 70-200 f2.8 IS (hired) lens and a 50mm 1.8f prime. i shot my cousins wedding two weeks ago and they were happy with my shots but when i look at wedding sites or wedding photography studios there shots look AMAZING??? i technically know how to use my camera very well. but its the setting up and vision sort of stuff that i'm lacking. probably know easy answers, but hey any pointers/books would be more than welcome. cheers Troy
Hi Outtram. How about going to Borders and scouring the fashion and bridal magazines? You can get lost for a day there and come out briming with ideas.

What Heath said above...
You must learn how to anticipate actions. Raising your camera by time you see things hapenning will be already too late and missed the shot. Talk to the organisers for the wedding, know how it will be from back to front. Be there before they do, scout around and look for lights and simple background angles. Enjoy your day, that is most what you need to do for a sister's wedding.
What HB said.
Also, you may want to see what expectations your sister+groom have. Some of them may be valid, and some of them may be off the wall. Make sure you have lots of fun on the day. Andrew
Canon make photocopiers and stick lenses on them....
thanks guys, i think your right about getting some wedding mags for some ideas.
i'll be pretty much looking for nice backgrounds and good light on the face's. i have some photos from the last wedding i took, where could i post them on this site to get some feedback on what i could have done to make the photo better? cheers troy
If it is your sisters wedding , why not leave the cam at home and enjoy the day?
This part comes with experience......but you can get some ideas by looking at bridal magazines and wedding photographers website. Also it depends on what style the couple is looking for? cheers Vince
Troy,
There are many photographer POD casts around. This week I have listended to one very good on featuring Kevin Kubuto (surname spelling ?) a well known US wedding photographer. Look around on iTunes and you'll find some good resources. Mark

Troy,
Yes my video iPod gets a real work out. I have been doing weddings for many years now as a videographer and of recent years photography. I never stop learning from what I watch and listen to on these Pod casts. My partner did her first wedding on Sat with me as my second video camera operator. she has worked with me on many projects / jobs but her first wedding. After a 18 hour day she now knows just how much energy and how foccused you need to be. Mark
