SC-29 question

Postby jben_net on Wed Feb 28, 2007 9:15 pm

Hey Guys,

Finally got a chance to sit down and play with my sb800 - i've had it for ages but have never understood it...... simple things like figuring out that the red focus beams don't work when its on continual focus mode.... anyway... I was playing around with shooting with the sb800 wireless and for some reason the sb800 wants to go back to manual mode where it expects the user to input the focal length etc... I guess this is because there's no continual communication between the d200 and the flash.... so my question is does the SC-29 allow me to shoot with the sb800 off the camera and retain the automatic features it had when it was on the camera? (ie not having to key in the focal length) hope this is making sense....

cheers

Simply - Yes!

The SC-28/29 is a direct pin for pin replica of the hotshoe on the top of your D200, except its got some stretchy cable in between!

I'm not overly familiar with the wireless functionality, for everything I do, I just use the SC-29.

I recently bought the SC-29 off this site, and functionality wise, it is good, but more importantly, it looks very cool!

You will then have to learn how to operate a zoom ring, and holding the flash on one hand

Unless you have a bracket or assistant to hold the flash 8)
