Water protective enclosures

Postby Alex on Sun Feb 25, 2007 10:10 am

Hi,

I'd like to purchase a water protective housing for my Nikon D70 (not scuba equipment), just to protect from splashes, etc.

Has anyone tried products from these people before?

Thanks

Alex,

I have never used one personally, but a guy I used to work with bought one for his camera. (I'm sorry I don't remember what camera it was, but I think it was one of those almost SLRs - looks like an SLR but you can't change the lenses.) He wanted to use it to take photographs while snorkelling.

While it did work for him, he found that it did not fit the camera well and twisted around making it difficult to access the controls and sometimes the lens port would twist enough that the edges could be visible in some shots.

This would be a definite case of trying it out on your camera before you buy it.
