sunday photos - and some help needed

Postby darb on Mon Jan 31, 2005 12:30 pm

hi all

The "W" series (theres many trips in the album.) at http://darb.net/pipidinny/

some help ... im getting a dust spot in exactly the same position in my photos, but ONLY when my focus is set to infinity ... same to assume thats a spot witin the lens?

Theres a lot of dust and sand etc on the inside of my elements, whats the best way to get the lens pulled apart and cleaned? (tamrom 28 - 300 cheapie.)

Cheers

is it still under warranty Darb?
why not sent it in to be cleaned, but considering the fact you shoot alot in the sand the problem mind reoccur.

Darb, are you sure it is in the lens? Have you tried another lens? Easiest way to test is set the lens to smallest aperture and take some blue sky, failing that white walls

only happens when focus is at infinate ... bring it back and the spot gets wider until its non existent (spread across the whole image id say.), and yeah i havent seen the problem on the kit lens that i can recall but ill go test that tonight.

Wierd... taking a 100% stab in the dark it may be on a particular element in the lens that is in focus @ infinity (ie rays converging to a point on said element)...

If you can send both lens and body in under warranty.. Soay you dont know (unless shop owner is a bloody amazing dude... UNLIKEY) they will not either... and whallah! both body and lens serviced... Nice thought.... might as well try :)
