Billboard?

Postby Pehpsi on Wed Mar 14, 2007 5:54 pm

g'day guys, long time no yarn. got my brand spankin 20" imac up and running :)

anyways, the WSID guys want to use one of my pics for a big a** billboard, which will be up for a month or so :)

just wondering how in heck do they turn a 6MP pic into a giant billboard??

just curious.

ps: if it was you, would you charge them or be happy to have it up? i don't really care, as i'm not too obsessed about money, yet...

cheers.

If it's a billboard then they're advertising something? If they're advertising something then they're making money off your image, so charge them a lot for it.

Pixel resolution per inch isn't very high on billboards, so I guess they'll manage alright.

well i'm pretty sure it's to advertise a future race metting, and they also mentioned using it for posters etc...

be nice to get something though to help cover the dent in my wallet from the 70-200VR. :)

i'll keep you posted.

Dots per inch now when talking in print. As Owen suggested its possible to do this since the ink blots are big when they are printed.

And yeah I agree with Owen. They will be making money off it so you should too.

Do you have faith that the photograph is good enough to warrant charging them for it?

If so, then name your price to them. :)
