Hey guys
I was asked to do a job for a Telecommunications store in rhodes.
They called to say they need it this week, but I am unable to meed the deadline.
All they are after is one Photograph supplied to go into a portrait orientated billboard at a bustop.
They want a shot of the staff members around the counter, something simple.
If youre interested, post or pm me and I will give you contact details.
Thanks guys

Sounds good, but.....
Maximum mega pixels I have at the moment is only 6MP, billboard size... hmm, thats pushing a little bit.
If a 6MP can be printed on that size, then I think it can be done, but I have never printed that big. Don't know about the actual results there.

That is pretty big still, I'm afraid the quality can't be up to good standards on that large print...

Yeah, but you're not going to be viewing at screen viewing distances!!! Assuming that you might not use the entire poster size for the shot, and that you are standing 1-2 metres away, minimum.. I reckon you could get away with it, with a little judicious use of interpolation.

I can probably manage this on Thursday afternoon/evening. Rhodes is just down the rhode from where I'm currently spending my days ...

Actually it can.
First you interpolate a bit higher... to something like A2+ (the bit between A2 and A1) or even to A1... and then you drop the quality down to 72dpi for printing.
Or you can even just go straight without interpolation and try your hand at a 72dpi drop.
The print quality isn't all that impressive on either billboards or bus-stop posters usually and you can usually pull it off at 72dpi because the cmyk dots will take care of the blending for you.
This is actually one of the techniques some of the large printers at COFA told us about (if we wanted to use them... Lambda printing and many of the other digital-darkroom means tend to print at a 200dpi setting).

Street size signs need to be 300dpi if possible. Roughly around A1 in physical dimensions. To get to this size using Pshop, a 130% increase in size at a time is the way to go. Realistically 3 enlargements will sufice. This image placed in indesign or the like and a hires pdf produced will be very aceptable to the imaging guys. I do this every second day for posters and they come out a treat
Cheers
