Forum rules
Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent.

Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature.

Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread.

Please also ensure that you have a meaningful location included in your profile. Please refer to the FAQ for details of what "meaningful" is.

The online version of The Age newspaper has a section called My Melbourne. Melbournian are encourage to submitt photos of melbourne.

It is not a competition of any kind, but a showcase of melbourne and melbournians photographic talent.

I submitted a photo in October. It appeared on the My Melbourne site a week later, no big deal really.

But the image does carry sentimental signficance. I proposed marriage to my GF that day in Banksia Park. Of course i did not mention this in my submission.
the link is here http://www.theage.com.au/ftimages/2004/ ... 41967.html

For those of u who have not been to Banksia Park in Bulleen, a large Japanese Cherry Tree grove sits almost in the centre of the park. the foreground image is a detail of a blossoming cherry tree.

here is the submitted photo (yes the image is dull, but prints look just find)

cheers

A lovely shot genji - cherry blossoms are stunning and something I miss living in Sydney - but back in the UK they were the delight of spring.

Well done mate! :o

If I was risking a metaphore, I'd say the blossom represents the spring of your love for each other...!

Definitely a keeper, make sure to back it up properly.
