Good Photolabs in Brisbane or do I buy a new Printer

Postby Spooky on Sun Mar 25, 2007 11:42 am

Hi everyone

I am having a gallery of my work in April from my Antarctic and South America trip. I will be offering limited edition prints for sale.

In the past I have used Digilab at Windsor for prints. When I rang the other day to check if they had updated their printer ICC profile I got the impression they didn't really update it and the emulsions used change all the time.

I basically don't have confidence that if I use them I will consistently get a good product colour wise. The rest of their service is great and they are competitively priced.

Is there any other labs around people could suggest that would meet my needs.

My other option is to buy myself a printer like the new Epson 3800.

Any comments?

I have to move on this in the next week.

Cheers

I've always been happy with the results from RGB Digital (http://www.rgbdigital.com.au/). I'm not sure if they'd meet your needs but they're worth talking to. I know they've recently had some changes and merged with Kayell...

Have you thought of using Photocontinental in Mt Gravatt. I believe they are very good although I haven't used them myself for printing.

Just to confuse you further.

I use Prolab in South Brisbane. http://www.prolab.com.au/
They have done some big jobs for me the last being a 2.2m x 0.9m display banner which contained a 1.5m x 0.85m photo. The colours were very acurate and their service is great.
Give them a ring and speak to Pat (female).
Good Luck
