PotW 27 March 2007

Each week, one of the moderators or administrators selects an image that, for whatever reason, catches their eye. Please feel free to add your comments here. Vigorous discussion of the images and techniques is welcome and encouraged. Criticism of any mod for their choice is not. Please note that this is "Picture of the Week"; do not confuse that with "best picture of the week", which is a concept of which we have no understanding.

PotW 27 March 2007

Postby the foto fanatic on Tue Mar 27, 2007 10:33 am

I have selected Wendell's series of images from Carnavale in Venice for this week's PotW. (See this post and also this one.)

The image I have chosen (see below) as representative of the series has the lot - eye-catching costuming, terrific composition, and superb lighting technique. I've always been a sucker for imagination and mystery in photography, and this series has both of those attributes in spades.

Image

Congratulations Wendell.

I was expecting Wendell to nab another POTW with this series...

isn't it usualy to show the picture in the POTW thread ?

Congrats Wendell well done, pass that on to your Mum too!

Yup. It wasn't an oversight - I'm having some technical difficulties with my smugmug uploader and Java Runtime that I've just sorted! :)

Wendell

I can't add to comments I've previously made on this series elsewhere other than to say congratulations on being selected for POTW.
