Royal Easter Show question...

Postby ozimax on Sun Apr 01, 2007 4:17 pm

I am planning on taking my wife and youngest daughter to the Homebush show this year (haven't been for about 20 years). I was perusing the entry conditions PDF and came across this info:

"The following restricted or prohibited items are not permitted into the Showground and are subject to immediate confiscation:

Recording devices including cameras, audio and video:"

Does anyone have any recent experience of taking photographs at the Royal Easter Show? Are they likely to search bags, confiscate cameras?

Thanks,

Ozi.

That would also mean some mobile phones, Ipods? and other MP3 players that can record.

Sounds silly to me. Must be a mis-print.

Looks silly to me too Steve, but in this crazy anti-freedom world you never know...

Hey Ozimax,

I took 70-200VR, 1.7x Converter, 10.5 Fishy, 50mm, 10-20mm, Flash and 2 Camera Bodies last year. Mind you, they did do a search of my trakker backpack but still I got in with it all.

I'm expected to take photos at some of the Skate Demos at Monster which will be within the grounds of the show. That will be interesting.

Cheers,
Bill

Skate demos, sounds interesting, might have to go and have a looksee.

Bill, you need a mule to carry all that stuff - or do you get the missus to shoulder the pack? :)
