wimberley gear via UPS

Postby Spooky on Thu Mar 29, 2007 7:23 am

I note Wimberley only likes to send gear via UPS.

My order is going to come to about $400 USD plus freight.

I have been burnt by UPS before charging "fees" when the goods reach Australia. Is this still a problem with an order of this size?

Thanks

spooky - you can reuest shipment through United States Postal Service. The following will apply http://www.tripodhead.com/about-ordering.cfm :

Note: We will ship international orders using the United States Postal Service for customers who request this service. However, these packages incur an additional US$15 handling fee. The $20 shipping subsidy does not apply to USPS shipments. Orders received after 2:00 PM Eastern Time will be shipped the following business day. If you are interested in using the US Postal Service to ship your order, please place your order online (UPS shipping will NOT be charged as shown as online orders are reviewed by our staff before processing), then send your USPS shipping request IMMEDIATELY to orders@tripodhead.com AND INCLUDE YOUR ONLINE ORDER NUMBER. We will email you with your adjusted order total and shipping cost. We offer USPS Global Priority for orders under US$100, but this service offers no tracking capability and Wimberley Inc. will not replace lost or stolen merchandise shipped through this service. We offer USPS Global Express Mail ONLY for orders over US$100. Insurance charges may apply

Ordered from naturescape and got prompt replies. Saved a few bucks on postage and it is being sent by USPS so hopefully won't have any customs issues.

Thanks for the help.

if they give you a call to ask you to pay duties etc, ask where the package is.

They have tried to charge me duties when the package hadn't even arrived in the country.
They rang to ask for some credit card details, and i said can i come down and collect it to be told, oh its not actually here yet we just have the paperwork.
I asked how i can be charged duties if customs hadn't seen it and it hasn't gone through the customs computers yet and the girl said she would check and call me back. They didn't call back, it just got delivered a few days later.

I purchased a Teddy Bear this morning for the sum of $10. I named him Mohammed. This afternoon I sold him on E-Bay for $30. My question is, "Have I made a prophet?"
