Anyone dealt with this mob on ebay?

Postby Spooky on Fri Apr 06, 2007 9:12 am

I am presently sourcing a 200-400 lens.

Has anyone had experience (good or bad) with this HK ebay seller trendypod.

The price is attractive. The next closest vendor (B&H) is about $600 dearer.

Here is the link

Spooky - sorry that I can not help you out with information on this e-bayer.

Remarks: Should you decide to go down the B&H path, the Australian Dollar today is trading at the best rate for 10 years, source xe.com: 1 AUD = 0.819241 USD

Is $600 worth the extra peace of mind dealing with a known and trusted supplier? If so, don't forget the enormous duty you will incur. :)

Good luck.
Steve.

I was just amused that the "why not buy extra items from us" listed a pile of Canon lenses.

Are they suggesting that there's a lot of Canon users out there who buy this lens because Canon have nothing like it? I know I've been tempted...

All you'd need then is a solid, ergonomically designed body to put it on. :)

Spooky, you may find our price is competitive with that of B&H, but our price includes shipping to your door.

I don't know who these other people are, but when you're spending these sorts of dollars, as Clint said, "do you feel lucky?"

If you are shopping, try the difference listings for this vendor, on different ebay sites. the prices are not transparent.

For example, from the same vendor, Trendypod, in their ebay.com (NOT au), you can buy in GBP, and today thats AUD 5320.

Not sure what you mean by not "transparent". Sure the prices are different sometimes for the same item from the same vendor on ebay but I don't see any issue with that. Just buy the cheaper one.

Generally I would buy from Poon but there is about a $1000 difference here on this item which is reason to pause to consider. :? hmmmmmm

Personally, I don't and I wouldn't buy anything from a trader with the feeback less than 99.5%.

My favourite traders in US B&H and Adorama. Some products, Adorama sells for a little less than B&H.

From HK. HK Supplies or Kea-photo. Kea-photo sold 13K items (Nikon & Canon gear mainly) and has 100% feedback. I've purchased a lens from them and received Mack 7 years international warranty at no extra cost.

Send them an email and ask for a quote.
