SB600 rubber coming off

My SB600 is not a year old, and the rubber cover on the rotate/tilt button is peeling right off!!!

I would say this flash is like new, maybe 10 hours use, and the glue has peeled off. Would have expected more from any camera manufacturer.

I assume this is common, rubber cement on D2's peeling off also.

Anyone know if I can get this replaced/fixed under warranty? Or would they charge me $80 to put on two drops of selly's quick grip?

Think I purchased it at Vanbar (for about the same amount as I just paid for 2 SB800's from HK supplies...).

I believe this should be covered under warranty, just call and check with Nikon first.

I have exactly the same problem with an SB600. Bought in April last year from HK, it's been regularly used but nothing rough and no tough conditions (rain, snow etc). I'm going to glue it down, will let you know how it goes.

i have had the same problem with mine too
mine is also around 12 months old
a couple of drop of superglue fixed it, no problems at all

I had this problem to, except my rubbery bit now lives somwhere at Eastern Creek. I just used gaffer tape to cover the hole. Seems to work okay!

Mine did the same thing and it gets heavy use which I thought yeah not bad for 2 years old. I did the same as aussichef with the superglue and it's been fine 'Just like new'

wow, that looks like a common fault! If I peep under the rubber looks like the button's spring is ready to fly out...

How long have nikon been making speedlights???

My D200 rubber grip has loosened under trigger and on principal I sent it back even though I could have put those two drops of glue on it.

I don't have a SB600 but last time the rubber came off for me, it was off to the chemist...

You guys, I see the problem, you are keeping your rubbers on for like 12 months...
You should be thankful that's all that is coming off. ROFL

The rubber came off my SB600 as well. I used a couple of drops of liquid nails. Because it is flexible you need to make sure you use an adhesive that is also flexible.
