Hi all,
I'm absolutely delighted to announce that the current issue of Australian Photography Magazine, released in the last few days, has my article (and photos) on "Frog and Reptile Photography Techniques" as their 4 page feature. This is my third feature for AP magazine, with my others being "Bird Photography Techniques" in March 2006 and "Alternative Landscape Photography Techniques" in Nov 2006.
On top of this, I've scored the cover shot too!!!!! I didn't even know and walked into Keperra Newsagents in Brisbane and saw my shot staring at me from the shelves!
I have had an incredible year or so with published articles, photos and covers in calendars, books, magazines etc but this definitely blows me away!
The shot that has been used on the cover is below, as well as the magazine cover itself.
Cheers
Michael

Congratulations Michael. Great news!
And what a stunning shot. No wonder it was chosen for a cover.

Congratulations Michael.... you really are genius when photographing nature!
I'm sure your run of "luck" will continue. Photographically I wish I was as "lucky" as you..
I'll pick up a copy of the mag as it's not one that I generally buy (no cds you see).

Congrats Michael.
I rarely buy photography magazines but bought this particular one whilst on holiday recently. It had (as you would surely know) an article about how hard they find it to choose an appropriate cover from the many that they receive.
Well done!

Wow - what fantastic comments!
Thankyou so much and right now I'm feeling pretty damn happy
Geoff - Yes, AP magazine receive hundreds upon hundreds of photos for possible cover use so this is just fantastic. This is my 13th cover (lucky for some) but definitely one of the most special!
Great to have another article featured as well
Cheers

I purchased a Teddy Bear this morning for the sum of $10. I named him Mohammed. This afternoon I sold him on E-Bay for $30. My question is, "Have I made a prophet?"

saw the mag at the newsagent today and thought, "what a great shot, I'll have to read that article"
Well done, certainly be very proud

Thanks Simon, Andre and Colin
After a request last night, I've also added the magazine cover to the original post, below the photo of the frog.
Cheers

Congratulations!
It is indeed a fantastic photograph. When you see it as the cover, you can also see why it was chosen. Apart from the exception quality of the photograph, the magazine title as well as content labels fit perfectly around the image.

Peter : I appreciate your comments. I have been working hard at nature photography for just on 10 years, with 1000s of hours worth of shooting, writing, post-processing, research, submitting to publishers etc, etc. There isn't a day that goes by that I don't spend at leat 4-6 hours on computer (upto 12 hour days on days off from my usual work as part-time Quarantine Officer) and this has been happening for years. I guess the rewards are flowing in. It's all snow-balling now and I'm in for the ride
Thanks also Grev, Piro, Mark and ATJ
Cheers
