Picture of the Week 2nd May 2007

Picture of the Week 2nd May 2007

Ok, better late than never!
Boy you all do post a lot of good pics, and many good ones at that... I think I have beat the all time firefox number of tabs open record!

But in the end I had to choose, and there was one image that Outshone them all! Congrats to methd!
Image
This image is simply stunning, for me the most amazing thing about it, be it by carefull metering or HDR combining of the shots, is the exposure of the image! The dynamic range is amazing with just about every shade used. And both the clouds and the sea spray give this massive scene a sense of depth appropriate for the scale of the landscape!

Have to agree, this is a fantabulous image. HDR at it's best. Not to mention the composition really makes the shot what it is!

Well chosen and well shot!

Agree x 2. If ever there was an image to show how HDR should be used, this is it. Much much better than the unrealistically colourful images used in certain HDR tutorials around the net.

Well done! As mentioned in the original thread, this needs to be printed big and put on a wall.

Phooooooooarh :!: :!: :!: That is a nice shot :!: :!: :!:

The colours are jumping out of the shot, the composition is excellent, I have not seen a pic of the Apostle's framed like that before.

GREAT SHOT :)

Thanks guys, really honoured to make it to POTW :)

There is however some CA along the cliff face which I have cloned out on the original picture, ready for print. I've got some plans for this series and I hope I can make some dollars back on it to offset the gear :)

Here's the rest of the series for anyone who is interested:
