Would Someone be Kind Enough to lend me a hand?

Postby Cre8tivepixels on Thu May 03, 2007 8:48 pm

Hey Guys,

I am looking for a capable/confident shooter to do a wedding for me on the 28th July. This will be a 'paid' gig......and will run for 5hours. Times TBC.

Please be aware that you will be representing my company Cre8tive Pixels and as such MUST be professional at ALL TIMES. I run relaxed/fun/candid type weddings so believe you me all my clientele are very much after the same type of photographic outlook (no bridzillas in sight amongst my clients/couples) so it should really be a breeze. I am getting busier and busier and am having a hard time keeping up so the opportunity is there for a continuing relationship should all things go well. Wedding to be shot RAW NO post required i will do that so really it's an easy gig?

Please PM if anyone is interested.

Cheers
Dan

Love the irony

Good luck finding an assistant/2nd shooter. It's a great offer and I hope that someone takes it up :D
So join in the chorus, and sing it one and all!

I'd love to help out, however I don't think i have the technique and photography professionalism needed for a wedding.
Good luck Dan and if you are in a tight squeeze I would be happy to help out!

I don't think he was having a go at you Dan. I found the connection between the two comments quite amusing personally ;) It could read that you are trying to become that prick by offering people employment ;) Or just that you know that in doing so you could be a prick but won't be.

And no there isn't a red bullseye on your forehead, you seem to have high expectations and standards as well as huge amounts of self confidence and some self conciousness, and people seem to offer criticism along those lines. It may come across as strong or as personal, it's not. They are offering their experience in fields they are strong and confident in. Sometimes it seems like an attack but isn't. Step back and read it again, the comments may not marry up with your style but they may help you to achieve a better definition of that style.

Everyone has different personalities, sometimes these are hard to portray on a medium such as a forum or email, sometimes they clash, it's life. Enjoy what people have to offer, the bad is not always as bad as you think and you can ALWAYS use it to your advantage. Knowing the way this forum is run if it is perceived as a personal flame or attack it will be pulled!

Personally I think this offer is a good one (the 2nd photog at a wedding) given the freedom you offer in your style of shooting this would allow for some great creativity. In turn perhaps give the person some more confidence and the chance to go for a non-traditional shot (or traditional if it takes their fancy).

Anyways I've rambled on too much. Just my 2c worth (no GST as it's not a service and probably not good either).

Brett

Oh and PS I like your styles and experimentations in style, theme and genre. It gives me ideas, and things I want to try out see if I can make it work etc.

Dan, it was a joke. I even added a smiley face so that you wouldn't take my comment seriously. As I said, I thought it was a great offer on your behalf, and an excellent opportunity for someone on the forum.

Take it easy

Edit: I'd actually be interested, if you'd have me around . Feel free to PM me if you like :)
Quick question, does the photographer retain copyright, or do the images become property of CreativePixels?

What ballpark figure were you looking at paying?

And why do you need someone else to shoot it for you? did you double book, or is it a bridezilla? :P

regards,
Jonathan
