I mentioned in another recent post how difficult wedding photography is.
While keeping a lot of quite stressed people happy, the wedding photographer is expected to capture the happy day in all its glory. He or she is also expected to produce a perfect portfolio of images, some posed and others candid.
This week's PotW is a wedding photograph that articulates what I am talking about. Our winner, padey, has given us an image that is partly posed and partly spontaneous, a combination of the classic with the candid. Note the use of selective focus to draw the viewer's eye to the part of the image where the real action is.
Three wonderful expressions on those children, and the look on the boy's face is hilarious.
Well done, Andrew.
Here is the original thread.

That shot is a ripper, the moment there, and gone in a second. Very nicely done. Congratulations Andrew.

The first time I saw this shot Andrew I just totally admired the fact that you had captured a beautiful moment that could never be replicated - congrats on POTW

Cheers guys.
Doesn't matter how often I see that little guy, in all the other photos I took on that day, I always think of that 'girl germs' 'cooties' expression.

Hmmm, lets see "cute kids/funny faces" sorry i dont think this pushes the bounds to be POTW.....there were sooooo many other contenders out there this week.
Tough job to pick one sure and i would hate to have to do it, but this image doesnt rock my world...
Just my ill-informed opinion though....
Hopefully this is seen in the right light as POTW is nearly ALWAYS praised

Out of interest - did you pose the kids for this, Andrew?
Great shot regardless.

Well, Dan, the issue is:
You don't understand what PotW is.
It is one person picking one image just because they like it. It doesn't have to be the "best" (whatever that might be) or technically brilliant.
There are always plenty of great photos to choose from. This week I had one other photo that I came very close to choosing, but selected this one for the reasons I gave. You don't have to agree with my reasons, but the selection is PotW regardless of what you think. (BTW, I avoid giving "honourable mentions" or "runner-up" type comments because I don't think it is particularly fair on anyone; and this is not a competition as such, just a mod selecting an image that appealed.)
You have the right not to like the photo for whatever reason, just as some people would not like the images you post.
But it *is* PotW - because I made it so.

This photo is absolutely priceless and the expression on the kid's faces is just great. You have done well to capture this funny moment and a well-deserving POTW.
Well done Trevor, too, for picking this wonderful shot
