Corel PAint Shop Pro Photo XI

Postby virgal_tracy on Wed May 16, 2007 2:19 pm

Can anyone give me feedback on this new software?

I am possibly looking to get this until i can afford PS CS3, especially at the $150 price tag.

Anyone know how it stack up against CS2/3?

Thanks in advance

I have used in briefly, but not long enough to form a very meaningful opinion of it. I'm sure you download a 30 day free trial though, which if you haven't already, might help clarify your decision :)

I used the Corel Suite for years, as my dad uses it professionally for print & graphic design. In many respects it's superior to Photoshop, the interface is more logically arranged, and the price is far more reasonable for the home user.

I'm not sure on its Raw support though, might be worth checking out. Also, if you're after cheaper software, Lightroom may be worth considering :)
So join in the chorus, and sing it one and all!

I use Paint Shop Pro 9 (when it was owned by Jasc) almost exclusively. I tried PSP X which came out from Corel. Basically, Corel broke a good product. I have (and paid for) PSP X on my hard disk but rarely use it. I suspect PSP XI will be just as bad as PSP X.
