Picture of the Week - 22 May 2007

Postby Greg B on Tue May 22, 2007 6:10 am

This weeks PotW is a great shot of a dog from devilla101. I love this photograph.

Taken with the aid of a Seagull Angle Finder - giving a terrific angle - this gets
right down there in the action. Sharp, beautifully exposed, what isn't to like?

Well done devilla101.

Thread here with a few more shots using the Seagull.

Certainly a great angle for a pooch shot, and the shallow DOF makes the happy chappy the centre of all attention. My only gripe is - what has s/he been eating? The stuff on the tongue looks a bit suss! :)

Well done devilla and good picking Greg - not to mention early! :D

Yeah right!!! Really (slap face) No way! :D

Definitely made my morning. This was the only photo of the beagle that came out sharp.

About the dirty tongue, it was gnawing on a bark.

Thanks everyone

Good one. Any shallow DOF is a challenge with an animal, as they won't stay still.

Great shot and highly deserving of POTW. Greg's brief but concise reasons for choosing this are spot on. I'm a dog fan and this shot is a classic. I don't think whatever is on his/her tongue distracts from the shot at all. It's like he's been having a great time digging in the dirt or retrieving a dirty ball! The shot is pin sharp and the perspective is just great.

Congrats devilla101! Great choice Gregory!

Enlarge, print and frame!! It's a must!

Indeed a memorable shot from an angle that most would not be able to achieve (especially me!) - well done, and well chosen :)

Congratulations Devilla101 on a great shot and worthy PotW. This image shows how looking for that different angle can really make a difference.

Cheers
