26th is sat arent you at wakefield for dutton kyle?

like i said earlier without my portrait lens it wont be worth it, i appreciate craigs offer but think with shooting with a different camera in some respects it will be lost on me so would prefer to give the spot to someone else

The offer still stands if you change your mind, I'm not entirely sure of the content but I got the impression you'd still get a lot out of it even without a camera.

Michael,

Even if you didn't have a body .... Matt K is bloody good (one of the best, and we are very fortunate to have him available for these sorts of events) and his words and demonstrations will give you a solid basis from which you can move forward ... regardless of your current level of expertise.

Gary
All I need is a white board and some markers. A computer and projecter if folk want some Photoshop tips. Perhaps some of the attendees will bring tripods and SB800s. A few large sheets of white cardboard to use as reflectors (I have a small collapsible reflector which I will bring but cardboard is cheaper, bigger, and better). If someone wants to bring an Epson R800 then we can make a few (but not many) prints? This will be a low key presentation (not my usual intense and tiring session) and it will be about the very basics. The simplicity of photography. Simple techniques can produce the most extraordinary, beautiful results. I will be stepping through the basics and revealing all of the tips that I know are likely to improve the images that come out of the camera.

I'm a single parent at the moment (wife overseas), and the babysitter pulled out  I'm trying to make other arrangements and hope to see you all on Saturday.

Michael

I will be using my Sigma 30mm on the day, but have the kit lens and a 75-300 IS you can use on the day if you like. Not the best kit, but will still allow you to mount a Canon lens on your body.

Cheers

Gary and Michael,

I'm sorry to say that I need to pull out of Saturday's course. After keeping this date free for weeks, my wife and I have just been invited to a wedding that I must attend.

Michael, if you still want to borrow a lens then I'm in North Sydney tomorrow during business hours. We can sort something out. Send me a PM.

Sorry about this guys, was not my intention to stuff everyone around.

Cheers

How's parking like in Balmain on a Saturday morning?

Unfortunately, I have neither laptop nor projector (nor photoshop for that matter)...

Cheers

Thanks Matt. A very informative session.

I'm sure everyone got something out of the session. I, unfortunately, didn't have my pens and paper which I conveniently left on the breakfast bar at home.

And I'm sure there will be lots of great shots posted (soon enough) by all of those present today.

Nice to meet a few more of the gang.

Thanks again. And thanks to Gary for organising the day and venue - also thanks to Vicki for puuting up with us all.

Cheers, Mick :) :) :)

I want to add my thanks to Matt, Gary, Vicki and the other attendees.

As the genuine newbie of the course I possibly gained more from the first part but less from the SB800 information.

Great talking and learning from everyone.

Look forward to meeting up for some shoots.

I wish to pass on my thanks to Matt for providing a lot of information to the genuine newbie of the group. I got a lot of information from the 1st part of the course while I think the others got plenty from the SB800 component.

Thanks to Gary for organising and Vicki for being so patient with us all.

To everyone who attended, it was great to meet you all and I learnt lots by just watching and listening to discussions.

I'm looking forward to meeting up for shoots in the future.

I'd like to pass on my thanks to Matt, Gary and the lovely Vicky. Learnt a few new things and also had a few helpful reminders of things that I easily forget.
