Photo of Shingleback - January 2005Hi,
Took this photo whilst on holidays in January. My kids held the shingleback for about 1/2 hour so it became a family pet!! http://www.pixspot.com/displayimage.php?album=197&pos=1 Photo taken with Kit lens. levels ...Hi Wombat,
why is he so dark ? If I may make a suggestion, have a play with levels in photoshop. Cheers CD
shingleback ...It was the year 1962 !!!
we used to leave a saucer with milk in the backyard in Adelaide, and lizards would come to have a drink. One day this shingleback came and he noticed the saucer and he bit into the saucer with a mighty clonck !!! and then disappeared. Cheers CD

I wanted to keep it "original" and I liked the dark background which gives it an spooky look. But it could be lightened up to give a different affect I agree. Steve (Wombat124) " There are no rules for good photographs, there are only good photographs" Ansel Adams.
Thanks for comments - I though it was a good photo - so many times when I take close ups the final product is disappointing (usually blurred) but this one had a high F stop - around 16.
By the way the kids did not lose any fingers. Steve " There are no rules for good photographs, there are only good photographs" Ansel Adams.
Thanks MartyThanks Marty
The original photo (over 4mb) is quite spectacular in that the colours are much better. Resizing for a web photo lost some of that "precisness" of the original thus a bit dark (especially in the background).
