Best place to buy a Nikon D50 and why?

Postby bigsleep55 on Mon Jun 11, 2007 10:33 pm

Hey guys,

Desperately looking for a D50. Does anyone know where I could pick a new one up from? Either online or in Perth [where I am].

Any other advice as to where the best prices can be found for D40, D40x would be nice, if possible.

Thanks in advance.

G'day

Out of the local retailers, I'd try Camera Electronic or Plaza Cameras. I'd avoid Gerry Gibbs and Hardly Normals. As for the online stuff, well the choice is huge, ebay would be my last option though.

Welcome to the forum.
Cheers

They had a 2nd hand D70 in really good cond at the south perth camera market 2 days ago for $500. He would have taken $400-$450. Could have bought that.
I just sold my D50 too.
Only place i could suggest would be the for sale section here or eBay.

Good luck

Well I'm heading to Vietnam and Thailand in two weeks, I would love to get one next week.

Nope doesnt have to be new, but I would like to have the box and everything that you get with it as new. What model and/or lens are you selling?

Bear in mind, you can claim a GST refund under the Tourist Refund Scheme if you buy from a GST registered seller.....

Might give you a bit extra to buy a nicer toy

Yeah, that would have been good. But I purchased a D50 from eBay earlier. Total was $700. Ordering a 50mm lens from d-d tomorrow. I will get back to you guys on how it works out. I'm excited!

It was on the 10th of June and the next one is 28th October (from memory)... They are very far apart.
Go to the Perth section of this site, there is a thread on it.
