Received my D200 this morning. Ordered and paid on last thurs night. Less than a week - bloody good service I say.

Didn't have much of a play, but it seems like a hell of a camera. Feels great in the hand, viewfinder is great, menus / LCD are clear etc.

I did however make a small stuffup. Popped the 50 1.8 on and took a few sky shots at F22 to check for dust. Noticed a smudge right in the middle of the frame. So used the blower on it and gave it a bit of a brush with my new Sensorsweep thingy. Didn't alter it. So I did it again, then though, wait it might be then lens. Changed lens and the smudge was gone, but I'd introduced a metric feckload of dust bunnies. Got rid of most of them now, but would like to reduce them more. Went from a pretty clean sensor (I think there was one minor dust spot) to a pretty dirty one.

wow that's quick. I find it usually takes about 10 days for my orders to arrive, which isnt too bad considering 3 days of that is the bank transfering money.

i ordered a d200 yesterday, and really hoping it arrives before the end of the month.

I just got d200 a week ago through Gary/ Poon. I now have d70 and d200. Love the upgrade. Only use D70 as a back up now.

What I've noticed is that about two months ago Poon lost one of his staff ... things started to slow down.

About four weeks ago he put on one new person, and a second last week.

In the last few days I've noticed a distinct improvement, as evidenced by Nick's prompt D200 delivery. Obviously the product needs to be in stock, but I'm happy to see this improvement. ATM, I think there are just two orders outstanding. One was placed on Wednesday this week, and the other is an older order for a lens that's been exceedingly difficult to get. I'm hoping that one will ship today.

And no, there's still no signs of the 17-55 or 200-400 Nikkors ....

Stop it, you lot. :x

I would like to get a D200 and you are making it harder for me to resist the urge. :violin:

I think Poon has shipped three to members thus far this week, with one - being an order placed on Wednesday - outstanding ;)

You didn't need me to tell you that, did you? :)

FWIW ... while I've not kept any numbers, since I was able to drop the price about two months ago due to the strength of the PP, the number of members buying the D200 - including myself - has really been very strong. Probably the most popular item, along with the 70-200VR, 85 f/1.4, and the Sigma 10-20.

You didn't need me to tell you that either, did you? :) :)
