Looking for feedback on our website.I've been busy this past week updating our website.
It is based on the Gallery2 software with a custom theme, including CSS, flash slideshow (integrated completely with the Gallery database, i.e underlying xml for the flash will change as the items within an album change). Feedback would be greatly appreciated. Oh it can be found here. Thanks! Brett
Brett - looks sweet and is simplistic, something I like.
Just wondered why you would put the legal bit about ’cease and desist’ as it would seem to apply only if the subject was on a laptop at the time and logged into your website Chris

It looks fantastic. It's one of the better photography websites i've seen in recent years.

I'm only going to tell you it's really really good if you do mine as well.
That flash plugin is great stuff. The site looks a million bucks, I hope you get a good return from it! 2x D700, 2x D2h, lenses, speedlights, studio, pelican cases, tripods, monopods, patridges, pear trees etc etc

I agree with the others, the only very small critisism I have is that the shadow behind the orange writing was giving me sore eyes. It was as if the writing was a bit blurry.

Very nice The only suggestion I have (and it is a strong suggestion) is that you say you can cover events, family shots etc - have some shots of people, family portraits etc in your gallery or portfolio. People make bookings for people shots based on seeing people shots
Other than that - well done guys Rel Dodging and burning are steps to take care of mistakes God made in establishing tonal relationships! -Ansel Adams

The design and flash look good.
There are a few spelling errors in your "about us" section: "everyones" should be "everyone's" and "possesions" should be "possessions." Also, your site gives the impression that you exclusively take photos of cars and motor sports. I'm with Rel, if you're trying to market yourself to people who might want family portraits etc, you need to show examples of that kind of work as well. Cheers,

Thanks all, I really appreciate the honest feedback!
Spelling mistakes fixed thought I had most of those this time, just noticed another one too... I do agree (and yes strongly) about the other styles of photos. I am working on getting some in there, primarily most of the work thus far has been motorsport or car based, but we do not want to be restricted to just that! Thanks! Brett
It is indeedy. Do you know how long I went looking for a decent flash plugin? I went through coding in about 3 or 4 different ones before that one came up. Credit to the authors of it, they made a great and truly flexible plugin, and their documentation / support is fantastic! Brett
Thanks Phillip... I am looking at re-doing the top a little bit, just to make it and the menu blend a little more. I haven't decided quite what to do with it just yet though as our business cards are white writing on the orange background for the RPM Photography... Cheers Brett
Thanks and in answer; Vi... Sorry forgive my poor attempt at humour, vi is the editor I used, a (not so simple) text based editor from the UNIX environment. The Gallery software is written in php and uses the smarty template language. I have done considerable re-coding of the templates and CSS from the 'Siriux' theme used in the Gallery software. My background is programming; so I have a distinct advantage there. All I wish is that each browser would treat html and CSS the same way *sigh*. Brett
Thanks. Slightly off topic but vi is second nature to me, I've been using it for almost 20 years now, it's pretty bad when I use notepad or word or similar and start using the vi keys to move around the document Cart software is a mixture of the in-built gallery cart software, the checkout module, checkout by email module and most recently the check by paypal module, all slightly modified to fit the theme and what I wanted out of them Cheers Brett
