Hi Wendell,
any light stand, with an umbrella bracket on top, add a hotshoe bracket. For the softbox, you can mount a regular speed ring to a hama flat plate, and mount an SB29 to the back. dont have time right now, but search my posts, I have some sample set up pics. One has the photoflex XS softboxes, mounted on manfrotto "nano" stands. http://www.dslrusers.com/viewtopic.php?t=26593&highlight=
thanks for this
i appreciate it i saw your posts the attachments from stand to sb800 look complex just to do what they do i'll investigate further Wendell Levi Teodoro

I have the bogen / manfrotto 3373 lightstand for my 580ex with a multiclamp and 43" umbrella. (the 3373 Dave recommends in strobist.com)
I got it for its compactibility. You can get a heavier duty one (air cushioned etc) but it will be bulkier to carry (unless this isnt an issue). If all you are putting on it is a speedlight, something like the 3373 is ideal. I got this stand and stuff from B&H. (stand is roughly $70 AUD w/o shipping) Boom arm stand would be helpful for clamshell portraits, I dont get enough clearance from the brollie to really attempt this. (bends back onto the stand when angled low from up high) Photoflex also comes to mind for shoe-mounted flash softboxes. Jonathan
thanks for that info
boom arm is important for a hairlight i just want a simple attachment for flash and stand nothing too fancy i'll check out all options thankyou Wendell Levi Teodoro

cool
currentyl i just use my mini benro tripod and kb-0 ballhead with attachment to hold my 2nd flash but it just takes up too much floorspace re legs and its pretty heavy compared to just an ordinary light stand so thats why im investigating other options anyone know where i can get this stuff over the counter ive been to all studio places balltronics, pioneer, vanbar, dragon image, l&p, fotoreisol none have these items should i be looking elsewhere? how much reach do you need from a boom? and weight? if light weight, and only about 60cm, the manfrotto flash bracket's base can clamp over a light stand, and give you the reach up to about (if thats not enough reach, you can buy extension arms, or the adjustable "magic arm" to add to the end of the flash bracket) flach bracket http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/278249-REG/Bogen_Manfrotto_233B_233B_Camera_Flash_Bracket.html these accessory shoes are aluminum, and are touch (survive a fall) http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/89989-REG/Hama_HA6959_Accessory_Shoe_1_4_20_Bottom.html you can achieve a lot with one of these simple $10 items http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/93392-REG/General_Brand_VA322_Straight_Flash_Bracket.html I think calumet also have lots of rebranded stuff, usually exactly the same, for about 60% price. for a boom (if only for an SB800), what about a cheap monopod, clamped unto somehting with 1 or 2 superclamps? perhaps onto a tripod, bookshelf, pipe, whatever you can. how about, a light stand, then an umbrella bracket, then a backlight stand, then the flash? http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/325266-REG/Bogen_Manfrotto_012B_Backlight_Stand_with_Extension.html there are also flexi arm versions of extensions, which are nice and adjustable. If you have superclamps, how about a light stand, a superclamp, a broom handle, then a superclamp and your flash?

another store, some other options...
http://www.borge.com.au/product_info.ph ... ts_id=9557 the photoflex extra small softboxes are very lightweight, they are designed for non hot lmps, and are made of very light vinyl (feels plasticy, but it light, which matters if on camera), you can get white or silver, but white is very soft (love it). http://www.borge.com.au/product_info.ph ... ts_id=9274 but you need to eith bend a cheap Hama bracket, or buy the $100 photoflex adjustable bracket (its a rip off) happy to help!
