Servicing a CRT monitor

Postby kenjabi on Sun Jun 24, 2007 10:11 pm

I have a pair of older Lacie 22" Electron Blue CRTs - slightly dim, one has the corner slightly out of focus.

Anyone know a good place to get them serviced? I still prefer CRT over LCD so I'd like to keep these guys going for a bit longer if I can.

I know I could take it to any TV repair shop, but would they know what they are doing with a computer CRT?

They are certainly worth servicing and you are right about CRT superiority! I have recently had an LCD monitor installed at work. YUK! And I seem to get eye strain from it very quickly.

The dimming could be caused by a drop in supply voltage (i.e. old components) or more seriously phosphor break down which would mean a new tube(s)

Why not contact LaCie.
