An Addition To My R1800 PrinterAs I don't want to waste ink and use my Photo Quality Printer Epson R1800
on general printing What is a cheaper good Printer ( Colour ) that I could get as well ? Cheers, Mic
Mic, I may be in the minority here, but if u have the R1800, use it. It's not THAT costly to run I don't think. Why get ANOTHER printer that will undoubtedly take up more space/desk realesate when you have a gem of one now? Just my opinion

I have a HP D2360 for doing invoices/letters..cost me $70 and it's not too bad, quick which I like..
Printed a photo once, it was horrible
Normal (reflex) paper is fine in my R1800 mate. It's made to work for you, and you shelled out a lot for it, I say use it and enjoy it.

Use it and when it dies buy another R1800. You'll still be better off. I put paper all the way down to Ilford Smooth Pearl multi use in mine and have never had problems. BUT for general printing (letters etc) I have an HP 5MP Laserjet I bought 10 years ago and it's still going strong. Peter

I'm in the Stubbsy camp too. I have an HP 1320 LaserJet, mono, that I use for general printing - they do such a wonderful job on text. You can often buy reconditioned laser printers or superseded models at online auctions for very little outlay. Anything requiring colour gets done on my R800. I wish I hadn't bought it when they first came out, because I would rather have the R1800. TFF (Trevor)
