Help! Computer's gone crazy

Postby phillipb on Mon Feb 07, 2005 7:02 pm

Has anyone had this problem?
I load a raw file in NC, I adjust WB eposure etc I save as Jpeg. The thumbnail looks ok I open the Jpeg in PS and I get this...

Image

I get the same thing if I open the file with NC so it looks like NC is not saving the file properly.
Can anyone shed some light on this?

If you have PS try opening a file through camera RAW and see if the same thing happens. If not then NC is at fault. If you get the same problem it could be a CF corruption. Try reformatting the card as well.

Some ideas to work on

Chris, I can't do that, I have PS7
If the CF card was corrupt wouldn't it show up on the raw file as well?

That's the CF card, happened to me before, not fault of the card though you may format the card inside the camera and it'll shine again.

Check in your PS7 plugins folder under other file formats to see if you have any NEF files or download camera RAW - I have it in PS7 as well as PS7

You are probably right about the RAW - just stabbing in the dark at the moment

How come a photo that I took this afternoon and was ok after I converted to Jpeg, if I try to convert it again now comes out stuffed up ( Birddog you may remember the one with the red nikon strap)
Looks like something has become corrupted with NC

That what I told you, Nikon doesn't like red  and it's your fault, not Nikon, not the Cf  so turn the yellow back and everything will be OK
