I guess that is 1800-2550mm equivalent on a d70!

I wonder if a VR model is contemplated :lol:

And the tripod requirements, sheesh!!

Tripod? I think even a gitzo would break at the seems with that monster on it. That said I think it would just rip the F-Mount straight out of the D70 if anyone ever tried to hand shoot anything with it.

Imagine it with a 1.4 TC ... At F5.6 you really wouldn't want anymore than that and even then I have to ask why you wouldn't just buy a telescope instead?

Add some macro extension tubes ...

get a used tank, remove the canon barrel...VOILA!!! Portable tripod!
