AW Ferry Hop itinerary

The AW Ferry Hop details are set out below. Currently I have the following 20 participants. If it's raining it's still on!:

Itinerary
The itinerary is on Google maps in some detail CLICK HERE and in brief below:

• Arrive at Circular Quay by 8:30 am Be ready to depart at 8:40 am. Make sure you have your ticket organised BEFORE this - get a daytripper ticket for $15.40 when you first board public transport on your way - this covers all train, bus & ferry travel for the day and is just over the cost of 3 ferry trips (we'll be doing 6 or so)
• For the first leg we travel to Pyrmont via Milson's Point (8:51 am) and Balmain East (9:00 am) so if you want join the ferry at Milson's or Balmain
• Arriving at Pyrmont at 9:10 am so you can join there too if it suits
• Wander Darling harbour for about 90 minutes before the light gets too harsh and it gets too busy
• Return to Circular Quay then on to Watson's Bay and back in a loop (no stopping at Watson's Bay) to take in great views from the harbour of the shoreline and the craft on the water
• Lunch at Circular Quay around 12:36pm
• Depart Circular Quay for Old Cremorne Wharf
• Walk from the ferry wharf to Robertsons point and the lighthouse for harbour views from the shoreline
• return to ferry wharf and back to Circular Quay around 2:40 pm

This still leaves time for you to prepare for the evening dinner.

I was thinking of getting the train in, but bloody City Rail are doing track work up our way. As it is, I'd have to get a 6:30am train, the track work would mean even earlier. Looks like I will be driving in and parking at the Opera House.

Parking in the parking stations around Darling HArbour (Sussex St) is $10 flat rate for the day, I believe.

Yes. And we don't normally ride ferries when it is 15ºC.

But then again, the last dive I did the water was 13.5ºC, so Saturday will be comparatively pleasant.

I ordered a customer built fish tank and they just called and said delivery can only be for tomorrow @ 11am..... or wait another week.

I went to the first walk and second walk... sorry I have to miss this one.

I had a fish tank as a young boy from the age of about 8 til I was in my early 20's...great stuff. What type of tank/fish are you getting? I had a 3.5ft hexagonal tropical tank, mainly with tetra's etc. I'd love to setup a chilid tank or something now, but time and maintenance deter me. Would love to see some shots when you've got it setup. Sorry to change topics on this thread

I don't know if this was part of the thinking for Darling Harbour, but the boat show is on at the moment. This brings up 2 issues.

1. More photo opportunities and 2. obviously more people. Doors open 10am to the show. Take into account the walk from Pyrmont to DH and people just might be walking into the crowds heading to the opening of the boat show.

My wife (lets call her Lady Penelope) wants to come along as it will be my sons first trip on a ferry.

We will look to meet everyone at Pyrmont or Darling Harbour and leave at lunch after the Watsons Bay ride.

Sidenote: got a chance to see the "Earth from Above" exhibition around Darling Harbour and there are some absolutely wonderful shots. Well worth the free entry.,
