Controversial Photo

Postby sirhc55 on Mon Aug 06, 2007 9:53 pm

There were some comments re my entry into the last challenge so I will explain how it was done.

Shot in a light tent using just cold fluoro, D2Hs and 50mm f/1.4 lens. A illustration was placed in the background to represent the fact that time is infinite. In front a stand on which I placed some blue paper and then the old pocket watch with no second/minute hands and broken face. All together it represented ”til the end of time”.

In PS a slight amount of smart sharpening and that was it. Total time from start to finish - 10 minutes

First time that I have seen this. Very clever :D I take it Chris that the background illustration was also your work :?:

Which is entierly within the rules...

there is nothing in the rules (and I have said this to some members who wanted more "out there" entries) prohibiting the photographing of a photo...

It just usually does not work... this, of course, is an exception!

A very imaginative creation Chris. I don't think there should be any controversy about this entry. The background is clearly a poster or record cover or somethig and is not the result of extensive PPing.

And congratulations to all entrants. There were some great images entered.

Cheers
John
