Poon Radio Trigger - Canon 350D/400D Edition

First off a big thanks to Gary and Poon for the trigger.

After having a play at the AW dinner with these I have now used it on a couple of occasions.





With the receiver plugged into the remote trigger socket on the 350D, and the antenna extended on the sending unit, the red LED lights up when the unit is on. When you press the switch on the sender half way down, the green LED lights up and the camera will focus. Press all the way and and the green LED changes to red and the camera takes a picture.

The unit has worked perfectly every time I have used it.

It is capable of working on 16 different channels using the DIP switches, although I havn't needed to change it yet.

We tested the range at the AW dinner and got about 50m (line of site) out of it. I assume this will depend on conditions.

All in all it's solid and it works - what more could you ask?

I'm not at all concerned, and my remarks were made in jest, and I'm sorry that I didn't actually make that clear in my post.

Speaking seriously, the OEM Nikon remote (IR) is not at all expensive, and is probably the best option.

At the very worst, there's a keyring IR remote from Jaycar that can be adapted too, for less than 12 Pacific Pesos.

Seriously is there a D70 version of this available Gary. I am having mixed results with infa-red remote for my in-flight photos and would love a RF remote
