RRS bracket to suit Nikon F80 on BH-55Pro?

Postby shockadelica- on Fri Aug 10, 2007 4:19 am

i want to start using my Film camera again

ive got a standard RSS (really right stuff)
BH-55PRO ballhead (with B2 Pro II Clamp)
http://www.reallyrightstuff.com/rrs/Customkititems.asp?kc=BH%2D55%2DPro&eq=
and am wanting to be able to mount my Nikon F80 onto it.

RRS have a Universal L- Bracket... the MC-L
http://www.reallyrightstuff.com/rrs/Itemdesc.asp?ic=MC%2DL&eq=MCL%2D001&Tp=
but it doesn't list the F80 as a confirmed fit.

anyone have any clue as to what to do, to get my F80 onto my pod?

Cheers

Do you really need an L-bracket?

I have the same RRS ballhead and I also have a Benro KB-1. The benro came with a small generic plate. I can use it to attach to most film cameras.

Have a look on ebay at the sites that sell benro or the UK site below. That's the plate you need and it works fine on the RRS ballhead.

Someone on the forums here may have a spare one as well that they want to part with. I'm using mine, sorry, in case you ask.

It looks like your only option is the universal plate

Unfortunalty you cant put your F80 in portriat mode with this plate as it only fits to your tripod hole.
But you can still swing it 90 degree's using the ball head if it has a notch machined out.
This is what I use on my F80. :)
