Hi Guys

Ok, so I want to get a bit more serious about the color management. In particular, printing. My screen is calibrated and imo looks bang on, certainly I've had no issues but now Im printing they appear to be a bit washed out straight from the printer. I've found bumping my saturation brings out the colors more but it doesnt look real on the PC (only real on the printer)

How can I look at getting these two in sync?

Im using Photoshop to manage my printers color at the moment. Hoping some of you gurus can help

Silly question, but I presume you are using correct ICC profiles for the paper/printer combination?

I've no idea Im using profiles for my screen. When it comes to printing, I let photoshop manage that and just select my paper type...

It is important (so I am told) to ensure you get appropriate ICC profiles for each of the paper stocks you use. Each paper is different - in terms of things like how much ink they absorb, etc.

Others can explain this better than I, but whenever I get a different paper, I always download the correct profile. Otherwise, colours may shift, the printer may lay down too much ink, etc.

If you use Ilford, you can go here and request a download of the ICC profile for the paper you use.
