I went for speed and also a clean layout... Nothing worse then cluttered websites in my opinion!

Hi Kris,

Mate, I like it.

The only observation is our watermark, it is pretty intrusive and having it always in the one spot sometimes positions it right over the subjects eyes (the shot of the boys in portraits).

Maybe you could reduce the opacity of the watermark border. Having the opacity reduced slightly makes it less intrusive but still effect (in my opinion anyway).

Great site though, I need to revisit my site again as well.

Cheers,
W00DY

Clean, fast, I'd prefer the thumbs to be a bit bigger, but that is just me.

Hi W00DY, I've changed the opacity from 35 to 25%

Thanks for tip!

hey Craig, yeah I'd like them larger but at the expense of making the site slower I decided to make them smaller. They can always request large versions of the images :)

Cheers
Kris

I just meant the thumbnails for naviagating are like 60x60 or something like that 100x100 might help id the photo before you click.

Ah, changing that puts the whole layout out of whack :(

Hey Kris

Man I like your photographic work. The website is clean and crisp. I would add a little more text content (maybe even a blog if you can talk a lot) to assist your search engine rankings.

On your clients page there is a link to KH PR that pops an email window (I dont think this was intended?)

Cheers

Hi Greg

Thanks so much :) I think its terrible *lol* but I'm liking the site. It just needs a few tweaks (logo is the biggest issue)

Ok, good idea. Where do you think its best to put this? I like to keep my blog seperate, I do ramble alot and tend to do that at http://www.allkris.com (my blog) but I'm happy to put in some more photography related content if you have some suggestions.

Yep, thats an error. KH PR has no website, only email. Ill change it to text only, thanks for spotting.

Cheers
Kris

Kris

Websites for photographers ... Ive thought a lot about this (and still dont have the answers) but I have some ideas.

You said in your allkris blog that you had two reasons for the site:
- To sell photos
- "a bit of a blog about yourself"

So at the moment you haven't addressed either. At the moment it simply serves as a great showcase of your portfolio.

Regarding selling photos, perhaps some thought needs to be given as to prices/order process etc. Also think inside the mind of someone who might be looking online for prints to buy - what are they looking for? what type of searches are they using at Google? Then create content that meets their needs.

Regarding the blog - think about the blogs of photographers that you visit - they generally have up the minute info on equipment you care about, or they take unbelievable pics that inspire and thus help you improve your own.

hope this is useful
cheers

Thanks Gregs. I've covered the selling photos part I've covered, its just not running. The Paypal section is running and allows you to purchase photos online but I'm not going to add that back in until I get a few more clients (they can buy from the site what they want) - thats all been configured

Ill take your advice and write a bit of a blog somewhere... perhaps a news page... You dont feel the about section covers gear and myself enough? I think maybe the site is best left as a showcase for potential customers. Ill definitely add in the option to purchase shortly. (its just a new set of gallery pages)

Thanks for your comments

Just a terminology thing but I didn't like the term false flashes in the About bit.

And no worries if the size is locked it, it was just a personal thing viewing it at very high res at work.

Done, Thumbs are now 100x68 :) Better? Used a single image on the main page, and adjusted so it doesnt scroll. Better?
