Capture NX 1.2 problem

Postby Mr Darcy on Wed Sep 12, 2007 11:27 pm

I downloaded Nikon Capture 1.2 the other day as it claims to fix a couple of issues that affect me. HOWEVER

The new version generates an "Unhandled Exception" whenever I try to crop an image. This appears to be a bug, but Nikon do not appear to be interested. To quote their reply:
It appears that you are located outside of the North American market. Nikon USA supports products imported and sold in the USA and Canada only. For support for your product please contact the dealer you purchased it from or consult the Nikon distributor in your area. If you feel we are in error, please try again with the web form.

Yes I am not in the USA, but I was reporting something that has all the hallmarks of a bug. I did not ask a how to question. Also, I downloaded the update from the US site. That means it was "sold" in the US.

I am not a happy camper

Has anyone else seen this? Can anyone suggest a fix?
My current workaround is to crop in CS2, but this is clumsy compared to the NX 1.01 crop

Mr Darcy, I too have Nikon Capture NX 1.2 and have been running it since it was realeased however, I've not seen this issue and to me it runs fine. I will ask though. Are you on PC or Mac? I'm on a Mac and it seems fine to me.

Cheers,

I'm on Windows and can crop fine. Not to say you aren't having a problem, but just that it doesn't affect everyone.

Have you tried to raise it with Nikon Asia?

Hmm. It appears to be related to my specific (PC) setup. AAACK! as Cathy would say.

I originally tried to raise it with Asia, but System hung, and when I retried I accidentally ended up on the US site. From my perspective (30 odd years in IT support), it should not matter where a bug report comes from. "How to" is another question.

I have now re- raised it with Asia. Here's hoping.
