It's a condition of being neutralised that you must barrack for the Wallabies in the World Cup!
Congrats Leon. Many people choose to come and live here, and it's especially wonderful when they think enough of the place to officially "join" us.

Thanks all, and especially thanks Matt and Philo for coming along and joining my family in witnessing this occassion
For the record, I muttered under my breath when saying the pledge that my support of Australia would only extend in the area of sport when it's NOT against NZ
And also, for the record - most here won't know that my Father is Australian and despite having being born and brought up in New Zealand, I have always had a very strong influence from - and love of - that Australian heritage. As such, I have always considered myself to be as much Aussie as Kiwi. After over ten years of actually living and working here, I (last year) finally got around to getting Citizenship proceedings underway. Despite efforts (or lack of) by the beauracrats in not pushing 'go' once it was all in order, yesterday was my turn to 'join the family' - officially.
It's a situation and feeling that most people have some difficulty in understanding, but it is real for me and I'm proud and humbled somewhat to now finally have this formalised
Again, thanks Matt & Philo for coming along - it was great to catch up with you (and thanks also for the gifts ) - I look forward to seeing some more of your shots from the morning.

The Rabbitohs of course - they're half Kiwis already and the logical choice!

Did you borrow Leigh's mobile phone, Gary?
Congratulations, Leon. At least now you can feel like a winner when you watch the cricket!
