D70 Finally Dead

Well grabbed the oldgirl out tonight for a look and well i think she has decided to give up as all i get on the top screen is FOR flashing so formatted and yeh still nothing wont take a picture or anything.

Might take to Adelaide next month and drop of to Hajima and see if it can be revived but looks like a good excuse for a new camera soon.

Thanks, i should do the drop test but yeh no hurry as yet but will get another soon for a back up camera but she has served me well.

Sad news indeed...

My D70 said the same thing (FOR) last night, just as the first band started playing! I was a little worried at first, but a quick format fixed it.

Hope it's not an early warning sign.. It's my only cam...

More likely to be accidentally triggering a two-button format - would this be a possibility?

Yeah it's quite possible, and probably what happened. It's on about 16,000 shutter count which is low I would think.
